The Portal

It began with a sound, Metallic, mournful.
A disembodied chord, ancient and forgotten.
Like mist, the melody swirled around me,
enfolding me ever deeper within its harmonies.

A tidal wave of pressure invaded my mind,
It's vice-like grip squeezing tighter and tighter
as my senses were steadily siphoned into a strange reality.

Electric blue lights flashed in my brain,
Conducting a stellar metamorphosis.
Transforming my essence to reflect its own dark web of tones.
We were one life, an energy transfer completed.

Then silence,
Nothingness.
No more a vibration of that endless note,
Just a state of heightened joy woven with the strands of
unbearable sorrow.
